2014 and Beyond: Women's Council Means Business
Are you as excited about 2014 as I am? For many, local markets are improving. And the outlook is improving in our industry. We are on our way to another great year for Women’s Council as well.
When our new Strategic Framework for 2014-2016 was unveiled by Women’s Council’s Executive Committee in San Francisco in November, there was a positive energy and optimism that the goals set forth in this plan will fuel our organizational growth for years to come.
Strategic planning is critical – not just for our real estate businesses but also our Women's Council local chapters. We must have a plan and goals to succeed in an evolving industry.
For our organization to stay relevant, we must give members what they need to increase their return on investment for their businesses and personal lives. Our plan is all about our members. So let me share two important highlights.
Referral and Network Building
Objective: provide regular opportunities for members to build a network for referrals and professional contacts as a strategy to achieve your business goals.
At Women's Council, we are known as a great networking group. In 2014, we are going to take it to the next level to train our members on how to maximize networking opportunities to increase referrals and expand their business-to-business relationships. We call this intentional networking – not just time to mingle at the beginning of an event, but an activity designed to engage a group of professionals to interact with a purpose.
At the local level, this means stronger relationships with business partners, which leads to smoother transactions and happier clients (more referrals, more business). At the state, regional and national levels, that means more connections and more potential referrals (ROI).
Education and Business Tools
Objective: Ensure that Council education and business tools reflect timely needs and issues of women business owners, drive bottom-line business results and address the core skills of the REALTOR® business leader.
Today, we are all connected 24/7. Our time is our most valuable asset. Our business and industry leadership roles are changing fast. Our clients are high tech, and we need to stay current and even ahead of the curve.
By offering top-notch education at monthly business resource meetings locally, as well as state, regional and national events – even online business tools for members – we can maximize our member's time and ROI. At every meeting, we need to ask: Did our members walk away with something to help their business skills? Our goal is to help our members meet their individual goals for leadership – in their businesses, in our industry and on a personal level.

We are focused on the success of our members and ensuring membership in Women's Council is more valuable than ever before.
Currently, dollar for dollar, the dues I pay to the Council are the best marketing dollars I spend in my business. We want every member to recognize the ROI.
