New Member Benefit Delivers Big Savings to Offset Holiday Spending

Istock 000006495559SmallWhile exact figures vary, consumer spending surveys say Americans are poised to spend more during the 2016 holiday shopping season than they did in 2015 – up between 4 and 10 percent, depending on the survey. Whether due to increased consumer confidence or just relief that the rancorous presidential campaign has come to an end, Americans appear ready to turn their attention to the holidays…and holiday shopping, which means the average person will see higher bills come due in early 2017.

The good news is that Women's Council members can enjoy doing that extra shopping this year knowing that a new Council benefit has just been launched: Online Outlet Mall. The mall offers discounts on premium and exclusive products and services for members of the Women’s Council of REALTORS®, which will you save money while offsetting increased spending. Plus, you just might find a gift idea or two.

The Council has negotiated “members only” discounts on your behalf with suppliers who recognize the purchasing power of our membership. Discounts are now available on some of the world’s most recognized brands, with new discounts coming online every month.

To save you time (while we save you money), discounted products are divided into two distinct categories: 1) Business Services and 2) Entertainment and Travel.

Business Services

As many of the benefits of the Women’s Council are intangible (think networking, leadership opportunities, professional camaraderie), the Council is particularly excited about this new, very tangible, benefit. The Council’s Saving Center offers discounts on a wide range of business services, many on products and services you already use. Save on accounting, payroll and data security services, along with insurance, Internet, shipping, office supplies and more. Among the most popular is the negotiated discount with Office Depot®/Office Max®, where you can get up to 80 percent off more than 300 popular products, including everyday office supplies ranging from copy machine paper to Keurig K-cups.

Watch your mail in early 2017 for your Office Depot®/Office Max® discount card. In the meantime, register online to begin saving today. Once registered, you can also take advantage of monthly and featured product specials. See all discounted business service product categories

Travel and Entertainment

Now that your business needs have been taken care of, it’s time for a little R&R. The Council’s Member Deals program delivers discounts up to 40 percent, special offers and access to tickets and preferred seating for top shows, attractions, theme parks, sporting events, movie theatres and more around the country and in limited international locations. (Some Council members took advantage of this new member benefit while in Orlando last month for the 2016 REALTORS® Conference & Expo!) And, if you need to travel for a specific event, the program includes discounts for hotels and rental cars.

Search for attractions by location, venue or specific shows, including Cirque du Soleil, Broadway/New York shows, Las Vegas shows, Blue Man Group and more. For those who enjoy movies, the Women’s Council staff in Chicago say the movie ticket discounts are some of the best they’ve seen – with more than 15 motion picture chains from which to choose. View all travel and entertainment discounts and offers (including featured weekly specials)

For both categories of product and service discounts, there’s no associated fee and no obligation – just great savings for Council members. Your Council login is required to view and purchase offers. New products and services are added regularly. Let us know what business services or travel/entertainment categories you’d like to see included in the Women’s Council online mall. Send your ideas to wcr@wcr.org.

So, whether you’re looking to justify a little extra spending this season or just like the idea of saving money, check out the Women’s Council’s newest member benefit and start saving today!
