Women's Council and RPAC -- Business Leadership in Action
Last February in eConnect, I shared with you the 2016 figures for year-on-year growth for Women's Council participation in REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC). Our figures were characterized as "jaw dropping" -- but how is 2017 doing so far? Were the figures a one-time spike and would it continue into 2017?
The NAR midyear meetings is a great time to benchmark how the year is trending, and I'm happy to share with you that the "jaw dropping" growth continues! The below infographic will tell you the story. Our investment levels are reaching unprecedented levels with 62% participation by Council members. We are well over the $1 million mark, up over 50% versus last year at this time. Last March, President's Circle members were invited to an exclusive conference in Maui, where nearly a third of all attendees were Women's Council members (by the way, get in touch with me and ask me how you can become a President's Circle member, and join me in Nassau in March 2018!). Our numbers and participation are unprecedented and unheard of in other NAR-related organizations.
So, I'm left asking myself, what does all of this mean and what does this tell us about our membership? After all, Women's Council is unique in that the requirements to join do not require a designation, courses, tests, or other prerequisites that can be found in other organizations. Any REALTOR® can join, so what are the unique credentials and standards that our members adhere to? The answer to the riddle lies in RPAC. When you invest in RPAC, it demonstrates your business leadership, and it showcases your commitment to the industry and profession, and community. It just fits perfectly with the mission of the Women's Council of REALTORS®. Our members statistically earn more, do more referrals, and are more involved in leadership positions than that of the typical REALTOR®. Women's Council RPAC participation contributes to the prestige that your membership carries and is statistical proof that our membership is a true cadre of business leaders. This compliments in "intangible" benefits that include camaraderie, support system, and a trusted group of peers. Next year Women's Council celebrates 80 years of advancing women as professionals and leaders in business, the industry and the communities we serve. Let's bring participation up to 80%, or better yet, 100%! Thank you for your participation in RPAC and the great work you all do. You make the industry proud!
