President-Elect: Jo Ann Stevens
2017 President-Elect Jo Ann Stevens, ABR, GRI, PMN, is part of the Lane Real Estate Team located in Sugar Land, Texas. Jo Ann is a native Texan and a licensed REALTOR® for more than 30 years. She is a graduate of the University of Houston and worked in the title industry for many years, managing offices across the country.
Jo Ann first joined Women's Council in 1986 as one of the founding members of the Fort Bend County Chapter. "Although there was one chapter in the Houston area at the time, it was quite a commute. In 1986, an Ohio member was transferred to Sugar Land and, when she discovered there was no chapter in our area, she helped start one," Stevens says.
"I owe much of my professional growth and success to the business skills I developed within Women's Council," she continues. "And the referral network is the best in the business, as our members are extremely loyal to one another."
Jo Ann served Women's Council as local chapter president in 1990, district vice president in 1991, governor in 1992, president of the Texas Chapter in 1996 and regional vice president for Region 9 in 1997. Jo Ann has served on numerous national committees, forums and task forces including the Executive Committee, Finance & Budget, Nominating and Bylaws. She has chaired both the Education Committee and the Outreach & Influence Steering Committee. Jo Ann has served on the Leadership Academy Faculty for five years and twice has been named the "Member of the Year" for Texas.
In addition to her Women's Council involvement, Jo Ann serves the Houston Association of REALTORS® on several committees and in 2014 chaired the PAC Advisory Committee. She is also active with the Texas Association of REALTORS® (serving the last three years as a trustee) and the National Association of REALTORS® (serving on numerous committees).
Jo Ann and her husband Ron will celebrate 42 years of marriage this year, and they have four children, six grandchildren and three Shih Tzus.
