Women's Council: It Pays to Get Involved
All year, we have been using this forum to discuss the value of membership in Women's Council and cover some specific benefits.
In my own marketing budget, my Women's Council dues are always on the top of the list of expenses to pay without question. Why? It simply comes down to return on investment. Yes, I have many designations, and most require annual dues. However, I know that Women's Council always shows me a return. We can list the benefits Women's Council offers you as a member, but the best way to maximize your membership is to get involved. This does not have to be a major time commitment. Just simply engage. Attend your local monthly meeting, get some great education and network. Make the effort to meet two or three new people at each meeting.
Our business is all about building relationships. As an agent, strong relationships with our fellow agents in our market can help us work together to help get a deal closed. The more connected you are, the more opportunity you have to build a reputation as an agent who gets the job done. In addition, having a personal relationship with our affiliate members can benefit our clients in a transaction.
Many of my industry partners are members I have known through Women's Council meetings, events and community outreach activities, where we get to know one another on a deeper level. This is how you build trust. The more you plug into your local chapter, the more you will get out of this involvement.
If you wish to take your education and networking to the next level, attend a state, regional or national meeting. Referral business is strong within your state and region, therefore meeting fellow members from other areas helps you when someone is looking for a referral. Many Women's Council members are known within their offices as the resources for referral contacts across the U.S.
As part of your national membership, the Referral Center at WCR.org is one of your strongest tools, so make sure your information is complete with current email address and cell phone number. And be sure to add your color photo and industry expertise specifics. A fairly new addition are links to your Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin accounts, so be sure your Women's Council profile includes these.
Have you downloaded Women’s Council's mobile app? This app includes our membership directory right in your hands at all times, making it even easier to send and receive referrals. Are you asking your sellers where they are moving and if you can connect them to a great agent in that area to help them buy? Remember, Women's Council referrals make you money.
Finally, we are celebrating 75 years of success in 2013. We are offering some amazing free webinars to help celebrate this milestone. Be sure to sign up early to reserve your spot, as space is limited. Visit our Online Education page for full details. Until next time...
