We are delighted to announce that we are proposing some exciting changes for the Council at the Governing Board meeting on May 18, 2019, in Washington, D.C. Last November, when you approved our new 3-year strategic plan, one element of the plan was to continue to evolve the Women’s Council structure to ensure that each entity and role contributes in a meaningful way to the fulfillment of the Council mission.
I think we can all agree. 24 hours is not enough to accomplish everything we want to each day. That’s why if you think you’ll just find time to get all your tasks done that have been piling up between attending meetings, answering calls, returning emails, and doing showings, think again! You will never have the time if you don’t make the time. Make completing all of the to-do’s on your task list a reality by time blocking them on your calendar.
Member Heather Placer tells the story of her commercial real estate journey, how Women's Council has impacted it, and why commercial & residential agents should be networking together.
All too often leaders think a few team building exercises and the increased frequency of meetings will boost morale, productivity and teamwork. When it doesn’t work, leaders begin to blame specific employees or the team. Frustrated and confused, many leaders allow, or create, silos around their employees, which only deepens interpersonal issues and weakens the team.
It’s common that agents I work with share with me that 80% + of their business comes from the people that they know, their past clients, sphere and connections in their communities. What they also tell me is that they still need more business. They are often disappointed by the lack of repeat business and referrals from their database. Here's how to change that.
I want to ensure that we continue the great momentum we have in increasing our Women's Council participation at NAR - That means you need to act soon to apply for national NAR committee appointments. We have less than a month until the application deadline of May 1.
