About Me

Welcome to my page and thank you for considering me for your real estate needs. My name is Marilyn Rivera, creator of Hampton Roads Team, LLC, and Broker-Owner of MR Rivera Realty Group. As a licensed Associate Broker-Owner/Realtor® in Virginia, I am dedicated to making your real estate experience seamless and stress-free.

With extensive knowledge and experience in real estate, I provide unparalleled service, guiding my clients every step of the way. As a proud military family of 20 years, my husband (a retired U.S. Coast Guard Chief) and I understand the unique challenges of relocation. This personal experience equips me to meet the needs of military families and all clients navigating complex moves. Our three wonderful children—one at Netflix, one at Tesla, and a daughter practicing law at Troutman Pepper—motivate us to remain deeply involved in the Hampton Roads community since our arrival in 2001. From PTA President to Cub Scout leadership, my family and I are committed to giving back and staying engaged.

Beyond my real estate career, I am passionate about volunteer work and community involvement. Over the years, I have contributed to various organizations, including:

Denbigh Little League,Hurrah Players, LINK of Hampton Roads,Inc., Expose Performing Arts (Dance Studio), Hampton Roads Academy (Baseball, Theater, Spanish classes), Frostburg University (Baseball Team Mom), Kiln Creek Elementary (PTA President, classroom volunteer, and Spanish teacher for 3rd grade and under), Operation Smile, Oasis Social Ministry, Catechist Teacher.

These experiences reflect my deep commitment to serving others and fostering a sense of community.

I have also proudly served in various leadership roles, including Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee Chair, Broker Committee Chair, and President and Treasurer of the Women’s Council of REALTORS® Coastal Network. I serve as Treasurer and DEI Chair for the Women’s Council of REALTORS® Virginia, as well as a Leadership Identification and Development (LID) leader. Additionally, I am a Hampton Roads REALTORS® Association board director and a REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) Major Investor.
