This newsletter is intended for 2021 leaders of Women's Council. This important information should be read thoroughly and shared with your local members as needed. 

Edition 14 - 2021 | May 12, 2021

Note, this edition of Roadmap is for 2021 network leaders and is being distributed to the six leadership team members who were reported to National.  

Network leaders,

Thank you for attending the Women's Council Midyear Meetings.  

With nearly 600 attendees, 27 speakers, 8 governance meetings, and 150 PMN course attendees, the fifth national virtual meeting in a year was a success.  A full recap will be available in the next eConnect.

Your network leadership journey now tilts towards the summer months. This Roadmap edition is designed to communicate key upcoming programs, events, and opportunities through the summer months, answering key information on the what, why, where to find information and associated timelines.

 

Network Certification Program

  • WHAT it is: Recognizes and rewards the most active local and state networks that achieve five key benchmarks of network excellence and exceeds basic charter requirements per its national affiliation and provides outstanding member service.
     
  • WHY it's important: It is the first year for this program, complete benchmarks and get publicly recognized at our live meeting in San Diego, and celebrate your achievement!

  • TIMELINE: The application period is August 1, 2021, to October 1, 2021

NAR Committee Selection Process for 2022

  • WHAT it is: While Women's Council members represent less than 1% of NAR membership, your chances of getting a NAR committee appointment is "supersized" (11% are on committees, and nearly 20% on the board of directors).  
     
  • WHY it's important: You joined the Women's Council because you want to advance your business leadership -- at the Women's Council, going through this process is proof that leaders are made here!

  • TIMELINE: Due May 28th (deadline extended!). Make sure you highlight your Women's Council credentials when you fill out the profile! Appointments are made by mid-October.

Network 360 Leadership Conference

  • WHAT it is: This annual conference, to be held live in Chicago this Summer, is specifically designed for 2021 President-elects and equips them with the tools for success in their leadership year ahead.
     
  • WHY it's important: incoming network Presidents have reported that this event is impactful, essential, and equipped them with the tools for success. You will create a network of fellow leaders that will cheer you on in your 2022 leadership journey.

  • TIMELINE: Registration opens on June 1st and the meeting will be held August 18-20.

Women's Council National Conference

  • WHAT it is: a "conference within a conference", Women's Council holds a full national meeting with education, networking, inaugural gala, and social events. This year a live event is planned for San Diego. If you register through NAR, make sure you mark "WCR" to open access to the headquarters hotel, the Hilton Bayfront. Located next to the expo hall and along the bay, this is is the best hotel option and is exclusive to members marking "WCR".
     
  • WHY it's important: this year's theme is "rise and shine", and is part of the largest annual Realtor® gathering on the planet.

  • TIMELINE: Registration opens on May 26th, the event dates are November 10-14th.

Supporting Women in Real Estate Grant Program

  • WHAT it is: This program provides local and state REALTOR® associations with the opportunity to receive funding to provide new and innovative programs focused on advancing women in the real estate industry. The goal of this program is to inspire women professionals to take on greater leadership roles in both business and organized real estate. While designed for real estate associations, this is an outstanding opportunity for local Women's Council networks to collaborate with their local or state Realtor® association.
     
  • WHY it's important: REALTOR® association partnerships and collaborations are key to growing memberships and sustaining a viable and dynamic network.

  • TIMELINE: Application materials are due on Monday, June 14, 2021. Grant recipients are contacted and funds are distributed by Wednesday, June 30th. All events are to be completed and follow up reports due by December 31, 2021.  

Leadership Identification & Development

  • WHAT it is: A national volunteer application process seeks to elevate leaders nationally with dozens of opportunities available in public speaking, task forces, and other programs designed to tap into your volunteer talent.  
     
  • WHY it's important: From limited micro-volunteering opportunities to yearlong commitments that raise your national visibility, the Women's Council seeks to build an inclusive leadership journey and tap into your talents and passions.

  • TIMELINE: Applications are due June 1st.   

Leadership Institute

  • WHAT it is: This yearlong program develops leaders who have demonstrated leadership potential through their local and state network, with the goal of creating a network of industry experts across the country who are actively involved in improving our Council.
     
  • WHY it's important: this is an outstanding opportunity for members seeking a guided leadership path with top-notch peers from across the country.

  • TIMELINE: The application period is from June 1 - June 30th. 15 candidates are chosen in August and the program is for the 2022 calendar year.   

State Network-Specific Timelines

  • Leadership Identification & Development review period: June 1st through 30th -- a state-specific communication will be forthcoming in late May guiding you through the process.
     
  • 2022 State Liaisons are due to National by June 1st -- a state-specific communication and electronic forms to submit are forthcoming.
