Platte River

I am honored to serve as the inaugural President of the Platte River Network of the Women’s Council of REALTORS®. Our journey began in 2019 with a vision to create a platform where local leaders and future leaders could unite to address the unique challenges women face in real estate. Despite the unforeseen challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, our dedicated team remained steadfast, adapting by holding meetings in parks and vineyards to keep our mission alive.

Our perseverance paid off when, in the summer of 2024, the National Women’s Council of REALTORS® officially chartered our Network. Since then, we’ve been actively engaging REALTORS® across Nebraska, excluding Omaha, which has its own network. Our inaugural Nebraska Real Estate Commission approved continuing education class, “The 12-Week Year,” held in October 2024, received overwhelmingly positive feedback. We plan to offer this course again in the fall of 2025 in central or western Nebraska, with a refresher session in Lincoln.

Looking ahead, our goals for 2025 include expanding our membership by 10%, particularly focusing on REALTORS® outside of Lincoln. We are committed to inclusivity, ensuring that both urban and rural agents feel represented and supported. To bridge geographical gaps, we plan to leverage technology by launching a YouTube channel featuring expert interviews on topics such as farmland acquisition, mineral and water rights, and ranching.

I am deeply grateful to our Board of Directors—Karalyn Hoefer (President-Elect), Rachel Rentschler (First Vice President), Jessica Thomas (Treasurer), Jessica States-Thiele (Events Director), and Kristina Boehmer (Membership Director)—for their unwavering dedication and hard work.

Together, we are building a network that empowers REALTORS® across Nebraska, fostering leadership, education, and community engagement. I encourage others to get involved, share your insights, and help us shape the future of real estate in our state.
