Welcome, everyone! We're excited to see you in 2024!
The newly elected 2024 Governing Board met with our wonderful Strategic Partner, Differential Coaching, to cultivate our core values for our network. The core values we envisioned as a Governing Board - community, growth, leadership, and respect - are not just words; they are the foundation upon which we build a thriving and supportive community of real estate professionals.
Let’s talk about these values:
Community - The Oxford dictionary defines it as “a feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals.” Our goal for the network in 2024 is to provide this sense of community - a place of belonging, a safe space, a group of strong, empowered women (and allies, of course) who come together to lift each other up in our industry. We'll also actively engage with the local community through philanthropic initiatives, volunteering efforts, and partnerships with organizations that align with our values. Our aim is not only to excel in our professional capacities but also to be agents of positive change within the communities we serve.
Growth - We strive to provide opportunities for growth to our members, both in business, personally, and in leadership. We also would love to grow our network and add new members and Strategic Partners and create a network where everyone feels welcome. By actively reaching out to potential members and showcasing the invaluable benefits of being part of our network, we can attract new talent and fresh perspectives. We will create avenues for networking, mentorship, and professional development, making it an irresistible proposition for anyone passionate about real estate.
Equally important is our commitment to retaining our existing members. I recognize the significance of nurturing the relationships we've built and ensuring that our current members feel valued and supported. By enhancing our programs, offering continued education opportunities, and fostering a culture of inclusivity and collaboration, we can solidify our bonds and empower each other's success.
Leadership - 62% percent of REALTORS® nationally are women, according to NAR, yet the majority of leadership positions in brokerages and associations are filled by men. Our network aims to provide leadership training for any of our members who are interested in pursuing leadership. Through workshops, seminars, and mentorship programs, we'll equip our members with the tools and knowledge they need to become exemplary leaders in their fields. Being tapped on the shoulder (or “volun-told”) to be part of North Metro Denver’s board early in my real estate career has propelled me to take on leadership roles and opportunities not only in Women’s Council but in the Colorado Association of REALTORS®. I would never have considered pursuing leadership had I not learned how to be a leader within our network.
Respect - Above all else, our 2024 board is committed to treating all members with the respect they need and deserve. If we are to be a safe space for our members, they need to feel comfortable voicing their opinions and be able to come to us with anything they need. We promise to listen and respect each and every one of our members, and we hope to earn your respect and trust in return. Respect breeds trust and fosters a collaborative environment where everyone can thrive.
Together, united by our shared values, I am confident that we will not only achieve but also exceed our goals. Our network has the potential to be a shining beacon of professionalism, support, and success in the Denver real estate landscape.
