After living in seven countries on three different continents (Germany, England, France, Morocco, Japan, and Thailand, in addition to her native US), and five US states (Michigan, New York, California, and Louisiana, in addition to her native Ohio), Sam Eckenrode settled back in Ohio to raise her children and work as a technical writer in Dayton, first for the Kettering Foundation and then for Battelle Memorial Institute in their Human Factors and Training Systems Section.Professionally certified first as a Teacher of English as a Foreign Language, and then a Technical Writer, as well as an active Notary Public and registered lay minister, she served as a faculty member at Antioch College for several years before (and during) starting a 28-year business as a bookseller with her late husband, Eddie Eckenode. She then earned her real estate license in 2004.
In 2005 Sam was named the Dayton Area Board of Realtors’ first-ever Rookie of the Year, after selling over 8.5 million dollars of real estate in herf first year in the business. She has served on several DABR committees and local boards in her hometown of Yellow Springs, where she now lives. Like her Associate Partner & licensed Broker Associate mother before her—Bambi Williams—she holds loyalty, ethics, and integrity in the highest regard, and is deeply proud of having recruited and mentored no fewer than 7 Coldwell Banker Heritage agents, several of whom started out as her clients, and some of whom have gone on to recruit and mentor other realtors. She has also been a consistent top producer throughout her real estate career, earning the positions of #43 agent in the company in 2022, #34 agent in 2023, and #3 agent in 2024, out of over 550 agents in the greater Dayton, Cincinnati, Columbus, and Richmond, IN areas.
