2027: National Leadership Team Officers & Elected Positions Process

EMC28245Right now is when we begin laying the groundwork for our 2027 National Leadership Team officer & elected positions. Our application process will be open April 1st – June 30th. We encourage any interested members to carefully review the full Candidate Credentialing & Campaign Rules Policy and position descriptions in the Network Glossary. Below, we’ve provided a brief overview of the national positions available, along with a timeline. We look forward to collaborating with leaders who are dedicated to the Mission & Vision of Women’s Council and are eager to further develop the professional advancement of women in the industry.

Available one-year term positions include President-elect, First Vice President, and Treasurer. Each year, three National Liaison positions are also available to represent each of the three geographical regions. Below is a short description of each position, full descriptions of positions can be found in the Network Glossary.

  • National Liaisons shall oversee, support and promote the work of the Women’s Council in their respective regions, and work directly with state leadership, and local leadership (if there is no state network), and report to the Leadership Team to further the mission of the Council, in such matters as may be assigned to them.
  • The Treasurer shall serve as chairperson of the Finance and Budget Committee and shall review financial matters of the Women’s Council monthly. The Treasurer shall report on the financial affairs of the Women’s Council to the Executive Committee and the Governing Board.
  • The First Vice President approves the records and performs other such duties as are customary to the office, including acting as Secretary for the Governing Board and the Executive Committee when necessary.
  • The President-elect shall perform the duties of the President in the event of the President’s disability or absence. This position automatically moves up to President.

As long as a member is in good standing, our bylaws permit them to run for national office. However, applying is just the first step in the process. Candidates must meet the position qualifications outlined in the Position Descriptions. The Candidate Credentialing and Campaign Rules Committee (CCCRC) will evaluate applicants based on preferred leadership qualities and experience defined in the Rules Policy. Prospective candidates should also review the expectations for each role to fully understand the commitment required for these positions within the Women’s Council of REALTORS®.
