President’s Message: Empowering Our Future in Prince George’s County

Dear Esteemed Members and Strategic Partners,

It is with immense pride and gratitude that I address you as your 2026 President of the Women’s Council of Realtors Prince George’s County Network. As we embark on a new year, it is vital to remember the rich history that paved the way for our existence.

The Women’s Council of Realtors (WCR) was formally established in 1938—a time when women, despite the growing numbers in the industry, were often excluded from leadership and many local Realtor association memberships. Born out of necessity, WCR became a champion for professional development and a powerful support system that helped countless women achieve parity and success in a field where commission is commission. For over eight decades, WCR has stood as the premier source for developing leaders within the industry, organized real estate, and our communities. We are proud to continue this legacy here in Prince George’s County.

My Journey: From IT to Integrity

My own career path mirrors the resilience and adaptability we celebrate in WCR. For 20 years, I was immersed in Information Technology (IT), as the Vice President and Regional Manager, I developed and executed strategies for large, complex departments and the organization. In 2004, I made the pivotal shift to real estate, bringing with me the disciplined approach, analytical prowess, and commitment to operational excellence that define a successful IT career.

This foundation allows me to view our network’s operations—from technology adoption to strategic planning—not just through the lens of a successful Realtor, but through the structure of a seasoned business leader. This year, we will combine that corporate discipline with the energy and relationship-building power of real estate to deliver unparalleled value.

Our 2026 Vision: The Power of You – Empowering PGC Leadership & Driving Community Impact

Our mission for 2026, “The Power of You – Empowering PGC Leadership & Driving Community Impact,” is not simply a theme; it is a measurable commitment to your professional growth and the strength of our community.

My goals, derived from our official 2026 Business Plan, are focused on three core pillars designed to elevate every member of our network:

  1. Leadership Development & Education

Our focus here is to cultivate the next generation of WCR and industry leaders within Prince George’s County.

  • Goal: Launch the PGC Leadership Pipeline Program. We will design and execute a four-session mentorship and training program focused on critical executive skills like public speaking, financial governance, and strategic negotiation.
  • Goal: Elevate Professional Skills. We commit to hosting six high-value education events (CE and non-CE) throughout the year, featuring expert speakers on topics like wealth-building, digital marketing strategy, and legislative advocacy, ensuring content relevance and excellence.
  1. Membership Growth & Engagement

We believe that growth provides greater opportunities for all. We aim to make the WCR Prince George’s County Network the essential business resource for all real estate professionals in the region.

  • Goal: Increase Total Membership by 50%. We will launch targeted recruitment initiatives and improve new member orientation to ensure every person who joins understands and utilizes the full benefits of WCR.
  • Goal: Deepen Affiliate Engagement. We will increase Affiliate membership and participation by 15%, creating more frequent, high-visibility opportunities for our Strategic Partners to connect directly with our Realtor members.

III. Financial Health & Community Impact

A healthy network has the resources to serve its members and its community more effectively.

  • Goal: Achieve Financial Sustainability. We aim to increase total sponsorship revenue by 50% over the previous year by offering tiered, high-value partnership packages, allowing us to enhance our programming and resources without undue burden on member dues.
  • Goal: Increase Community Impact. We will host a signature fundraiser to raise a minimum of $5,000.00 for a local Prince George’s County non-profit focused on housing stability or financial literacy, thereby giving back directly to the communities we serve.

I am confident that through focused effort, shared vision, and the collaborative spirit of the Women’s Council, we will not only meet but exceed these objectives.

Your presence is your power. I invite you to step fully into your leadership potential, attend our events, lend your voice to our committees, and help make 2026 the most impactful year yet.

With anticipation for a year of excellence,

Margo McIntyre, 2026 President Women’s Council of Realtors Prince George’s County
