Richmond
Hello Members and Members To Be,
The Women’s Council of REALTORS® mission statement is,
We are a network of successful REALTORS, advancing women as business leaders in the industry and in the communities we serve.
Well, we are three quarters into the year, with just 3 months to go in 2025. It is hard to believe that 2026 is right around the corner. To recap our year, we provided programs to help us in our business and our personal life, we have volunteered, working with Imprint packing lunches, our auction at our Spring Luncheon brought in over $1800 for Feedmore! We have had a lot of fun along the way as well, in January we held our Pancakes and Partners Breakfast, we caught up with our Strategic Partners, who provided us breakfast, played a version of the Dating Game and heard a bit of Women’s Council of Realtors® history. Katelyn Lewis with Retex Roofing held a social hour in February for the members. In March, we showed how to LOVE on your database to make it really work for you. In April, in collaboration with NARPM we held a session with Keith Smith, Learning How to Engage Beyond DEI, Keith is an excellent speaker/educator and this session did not disappoint!
In June Albany Busch with South State Bank and Meghan Baber with Atkinson Insurance provided a lunch and learn, it was a wealth of information on insurance happenings, mortgage info and how our Strategic Partners can be a major factor in our business. We held a social at Twin Hickory Tavern after our August meeting about zoning in 5 of the counties/cities in the area. This was an excellent program and the timing was perfect, many of the areas are in the process of updating their zonings to catch up with today’s needs. In July we held a night out at The Concert Series at Westchester Commons, the Kozy Kats put on a great show.
The last third of the year will be just as exciting. On September 16th, 1-5, we will join our State Network at the Convention Center for their annual meeting. The speaker will be Delegate Brianna Sewell. Voting will take place for our state leaders as well. This is also a perfect time to meet other members from around the state.
On October 16th we will be hosting a new member orientation at Eastwood Homes at Greenhouse. This will be informative for ALL members with a little Women’s Council History, a tour of one of the homes in Greenhouse, a little wine-down time and a time to relax and enjoy our time together.
In November your 2025 board will be heading to Houston, TX for the Women’s Council National meetings. A great place to network with other networks thru-out the US and beyond. We will bring back ideas to make 2026 another banner year.
In December will be the installation of our 2026 officers. Mark the date, December 16th, Paula Lisa Dawson will be taking the helm and she will be an excellent leader, her board is already thinking ahead for 2026. If you are interested in being more involved, we would love to have you volunteer for one of our committees. We are here to help guide you to your leadership roles in your business and in your communities.
