About Me

Margarita Diaz Cavanagh is a Broker Associate/Realtor® with Keller Williams St. Johns in St. Augustine, Florida. Born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, she earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration with a major in Marketing and a minor in Human Resources from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus. Margarita relocated to the United States 37 years ago and has since lived in California, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Florida, gaining a rich and diverse background that informs her client-centered approach.

With a professional journey spanning 40 years, Margarita brings a wealth of experience in banking, residential, and commercial lending. Her expertise includes roles as a loan officer, processor, closer, and underwriter, as well as a Preferred Banker and Banking Center Manager for several major financial institutions. In 2017, following a layoff from her underwriting role, Margarita embraced a new chapter as a Residential Real Estate Agent. She joined her husband, Eric, to form The Cavanagh Home Team—a fully bilingual (English and Spanish) husband-and-wife team focused on delivering exceptional real estate service.

Margarita is a passionate industry leader and active community advocate. She served as the 2024 President of the Women’s Council of Realtors® Jacksonville Network and as the Communications Vice-Chair for Women’s Council of Realtors® Florida. She is currently the District Vice President for Women’s Council of Realtors® Florida. She also serves as the 2025 State Chair for the Communications Committee. Margarita has been a Director for the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors® (NEFAR) for the past two years and a Florida Realtors® Director for two years, continuing in that role currently. She is also a proud member of the Florida Realtors® Honor Society and remains actively involved in numerous committees, councils, and leadership initiatives across the industry.

Her leadership track record includes participation in the 2023 Agent Leadership Council (ALC) at Keller Williams Atlantic Partners, as well as previous roles as Acting President, Vice President, and Director of Education for the NAHREP Jacksonville Chapter. Margarita’s performance has earned her numerous accolades, including Keller Williams top producer awards and the 2022 Women’s Council of Realtors® Jacksonville Network Member of the Year.

In addition to her professional commitments, Margarita is deeply rooted in civic service. She has been a Legacy Team Member at Celebration Church since 2018, a Serve Day Volunteer since 2006, and a sponsor of three children in Zimbabwe through OneChild.org. She also contributes to community efforts such as the Celebration Church Food Pantry and Keller Williams’ Red Day initiatives.

Margarita and Eric have been married for 29 years and together for 32. They share a loving blended family with three children and two granddaughters. When she’s not helping clients or leading in her community, Margarita enjoys traveling and spending meaningful time with her family and friends.
