About Me

I'm Marquita, your real estate advisor with a unique blend of experience, expertise, and a touch of wanderlust. Before settling in the city of Gainesville, I had the privilege of calling many places home, from the open roads of Idaho and Iowa to the shores of California and Florida. Each move has gifted me with a deep appreciation for the diverse landscapes and communities across this beautiful country.

I was born in South Dakota and spent most of my younger years exploring Iowa. A variety of life choices led me to live in 12 different states, and create memories or at least drive through all 48 states in the continental US. Some of my favorite memories include hiking in California, being able to see both the ocean and mountain range at the same time, and fresh lobster after hiking the island of Monhegan off the coast of Maine. I finally landed in Gainesville in 2013, with a brief hiatus to Tampa in 2016. I’ve been in Gainesville ever since and have enjoyed growing roots with my family.

My husband, Andrew, was born and raised in Maine. He is a Marine Corps veteran now working at the Florida Department of Transportation State Materials Office. He loves to tinker, whether it's restoring a decommissioned 1980's fire truck or breathing new life into old tools. Our kids were born in 2017 and 2020. We are doing our best to raise them to be contributing members of society while still enjoying making memories.

Our family enjoys a wide array of activities, from listening to an eclectic mix of music—anything from Yo Yo Ma to Metallica—to kayaking, reading, hiking, gardening, and exploring new cuisines. We enjoy creating new experiences.
