About Me

Shanyelle L. Young is the Broker/Owner of S Young Realty & Associates, LLC. She
Has been a REALTOR for 21 years. In 2016 she followed her dream to become a Broker and opened her own Real Estate firm. She now has a diverse sales team of team 7 Realtors. She has used her business as a ministry and has been honored and Blessed to help so many achieve their goals and make their dreams come true. Her business motto is “Giving and Living in Abundance”. She also serves as Director of Marketing and Sales Trainer for The Brent Young Insurance Agency.

She is a graduate of The University of Connecticut where she earned her degree in Economics and Sociology. Shanyelle is a winner of the prestigious Hartford Business Journal’s 2021 Women in Business Award.She serves as a Committee member of the National Association of Realtors’ Fair Housing Committee. She is serving her 2nd year as Vice President at Large for Connecticut Realtors’ Association. In 2025 she was installed as the Women’s Council of Realtors’ Connecticut State Liason. Just last year she was named Realtor of the Year by the Greater Hartford Association of Realtors.

Shanyelle currently serves as Chairperson of The Connecticut Realtor’s State Accountability for Racial Justice and Inequality Committee. She is co-founder of the Bridge Committee of The Greater Hartford Association of Realtors which was established in 2015 to support underrepresented and marginalized Realtors and their clients. Shanyelle became a member of the prestigious historically black Divine Nine organization, Zeta Phi Beta, Sorority Incorporated in the Spring of 2023. Founded in 1920, A community action-oriented organization of Finer Women. She also continues her 10 year commitment to sit on the the University of Connecticut African American Alumni Council.

Shanyelle has been a member of the First Cathedral Church in Bloomfield CT for 24 years where she has served as a Sunday school teacher for the Children’s and Women’s Ministry and was an advisor of the Diaconate Bereavement Ministry.

She also holds a CT Insurance Agent license so she can assist her husband, Brent Young, of 31 years in his Insurance Agency.

Shanyelle’s biggest Blessings are her 3 children. Brent Jr. and Shaylyn - 29-year-old twins, one who is a Dr of Chiropractor who implemented a Chiropractor Department in The Jacksonville, Florida VA chiropractic center. The other who is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst for Autistic children, a licensed therapist, and a children’s book author. Her youngest is a graduate of the School of Business at The University of Connecticut and is a Leverage finance analyst with Goldman Sachs, NYC.

In her spare time, Shanyelle spends time sewing (she made and donated over 2000 face masks during covid), crafting with her Cricut, roller skating, bicycle riding, traveling, and spending time with her family and girlfriends.
