What is the Leadership Institute?

While many organizations have Leadership Institutes and Academies, the Women’s Council’s 85+year track record and proven system in creating leaders is considered the pinnacle in the industry. The Leadership Institute develops leaders who have demonstrated leadership potential through their local network, with the goal of creating a network of industry experts across the country who are actively involved in improving our Council. The education pillars behind this training program are Team Building, Presentation Skills, Conflict Resolution, Storytelling, Strategic Thinking, and Empowering Others.

All applicants must be:

A REALTOR®, REALTOR-Associate® or REALTOR® Association Executive.
A Women’s Council National member in good standing.

The following will be given special consideration.

National Women’s Council member for at least 2 years.
Served at local network.
Attended at least 2 (in person) National Women’s Council Conferences (Midyear, Network 360 or National Conference).
Have not already served on State Leadership Line, State Liaison, or National Leadership.

What time commitment does the Leadership Institute entail?

The Leadership Institute is a 11 month commitment (January–November) with required in-person and virtual participation.

Required In-Person Meetings

2-day Training (Chicago, Feb or Mar): Student covers airfare; Council covers other travel costs
National Midyear Meeting (Washington, DC, May): Student covers registration and all travel expenses
National Conference (San Diego, November): Student covers registration and all travel expenses

Virtual Sessions

Additional required meetings are held via Zoom throughout the year.

Attendance Requirement

Full attendance at all in-person and virtual sessions is mandatory to graduate.
Unexcused absences will result in removal from the program, and reapplication is required (future selection is not guaranteed).

Applicants are encouraged to thoughtfully consider the time, travel, and financial commitment prior to applying.

What costs are entailed for the Leadership Institute?

Leadership Institute Costs and Fees

Application/Participation Fee: $699, due by December 1, 2026 (covers program tuition)
February/March Training (Chicago): Council covers hotel and meals; participant covers airfare
Midyear Meeting & National Conference: Registration, hotel, and all travel expenses are the participant’s responsibility
