What is the Leadership Institute?
While many organizations have Leadership Institutes and Academies, Women’s Council leadership’s 80-year track record and proven system in creating leaders is considered the gold standard in the industry. The Leadership Institute develops leaders who have demonstrated leadership potential through their local and state network, with the goal of creating a network of industry experts across the country who are actively involved in improving our Council.
Who should apply?
Applicants must be a Women's Council National member-in-good standing and REALTOR®, REALTOR-Associate® or REALTOR® Association Executive who have served on the local network level and/or have potentially had some experience at the state or national level of Women’s Council. Applicants will have demonstrated a commitment to expand their knowledge and involvement in the industry as well as seek greater involvement in Women’s Council national leadership. Applicants should hold the PMN designation. The Leadership Institute is limited to no more than 17 participants each year. Applications are due July 1st and applicants are chosen in August.
What time commitment does the Leadership Institute entail?
The Leadership Institute is a major 9-month commitment, March-November. This includes attendance at the following three meetings: a dedicated 2-day training event in Chicago, IL, in March 2021; the Midyear Meeting in Washington, DC, in May 2021; the National Conference in San Diego, CA, in November 2021. Other meetings will be held via telephone or video-conference in between the meetings. Leadership Institute participants must commit to attending all three meetings.
What costs are entailed for the Leadership Institute? What is covered and what is not?
For 2021, the $495 application/participation fee is due by December 31st and covers the cost of tuition of the program. The March training is fully covered by Women’s Council (air, hotel and meals). The Midyear Meeting, PMN Course (held during the Midyear Meeting), and the National Conference are at the participant’s expense.
