A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Did you Renew your membership for 2017 — please go to WCR.org to renew before the month ends.  Have a friend who might benefit from being a member?  Please ask them to join you at an upcoming Business Resource Meeting. Please make sure your email address is correct and add your best photo!

We hope you all had a Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah!

In December, we voted in our new uncontested Board of Governors for 2017.  Best of Luck to all of them, Karen, Mary, Lilia, Laura and Beverly, we know you will all have a great year!

Our December Business Resource meeting on the New Assessment Demonstration Program and OPRS System demonstration was our best attended meeting. Due to popular demand, I am working on spinning off additional meetings and will advise you of the future dates in 2017.

Our next Meeting will be held on January 27, 2017 - Please save the date! Watch for Eventbrite from Karen Sluyk, 2017 President.

The Hospitality Suite joint venture with our Sister Chapters around the State during our Triple Play Convention in Atlantic City, was a huge success!  Food was great, tasty, and hot! Refreshments through-out the day...... hot coffee and tea were HOT!  and the cold drinks refreshing!

OUR CHAPTER WON THE NJ STATE WCR "WEBBIE AWARD" for our Website and social media sites.  It is the 2nd time the award has been given to a NJ Chapter.  Thank you, we appreciate it!!

I want to Thank our membership for such a great year in 2016 - As your 2016 President, it was an honor to continue to strive to help make our Chapter grow greater each year.  We met and exceeded most of the goals we set out to achieve.  Our membership soared from 38 to 54! We doubled our Fundraising for the American Cancer Society through Bras for a Cause. We had fabulous, well-received programs reaching high marks from the attendees.  We had record number attendance at several of our Business Resource meetings this year!  We aimed to give more value to our members; from supplementing programs, to offering great Networking Events at 0 cost to member and their guests.  We implemented a pilot program reducing members fee to attend Business Resource meeting while striving to produce different yet interesting and useful meeting topics. We implemented a Membership Committee in 2016 and Hospitality Committee 2016 both in early stages, they were a great help at our meetings.  2016 was a very good year all around!  Thank you, members and Affiliates (Partners)for your support in 2016! Without our members and partners, we could not exist and grow, our Chapter’s success is YOUR success. As your 2016 President, I want to say thank you! I was proud to serve our wonderful Chapter, it has been a pleasure.  Best Regards and Wishing the 2017 Board much continued Success!

Wishing you and your families a very Happy, Healthy, and Prosperous 2017-  Happy New Year!

Best Regards

Kathleen Cody Bjelka, 2016 President, 2017 Past President
